Father’s Day

To the man who wants no recognition, the man behind the camera and video capturing the sweet moments of our lives so we can remember the way we felt, hear the laughter shared, and see the love between us – we see you.

We saw you as you repeatedly pricked your finger first to show us that we weren’t alone with gestational diabetes. We saw you as you offered up your hand as tribute to be death gripped at 3:00 am during contractions working towards a labor that was long overdue. We watched tears well in your eyes as your daughter entered the world with peace and joy surrounding her.

We see you work hard to provide us with food and shelter. We see the sacrifices you make to make sure we are always taken care of – even if it means extra travel or long hours. We see your research, countless hours of research, that yields incredible adventures, best sleeping techniques, feeding techniques, and so so so much more (especially because mom hates researching).

We heard you whisper “I want to show her what a good marriage looks like” after a big fight as you embraced mom in a loving hug. We see you lead our family with honor even when it’s hard. We see you work on yourself so you can love us even better.

We see your choice to play even when your tired. We see you choose us over going out alone. We see your love in your smile, your laugh, your patience, your dedication to provide.

From the first “Are you serious?” response of learning you were going to be a dad to last nights “I don’t care if I ever do anything else but sit here and play with her” words uttered from your lips – we’ve known you would be & will continue to be an amazing father. We love you.
