It’s Raining, It’s Pouring – literally, we live in WA!

Holy crap, we have a baby shower coming up in 2 weeks! We have an awesome group of friends that are planning it for us and I’m definitely feeling the love already. It is going to be so much fun – odd because I never saw myself as one to get excited about a baby shower, but I think I’m pumped because it will be all the raddest women I know in WA in one room! Plus, all of my blood sugar tests have been normal or low with minimal diet change so… bring on the cupcake!

I wish that all of you awesome family members and KY friends could make the trip to WA but I know it’s not possible. Please know we miss you tons and wish we could celebrate together! Don’t worry, I promise to take tons of pics and share as much as I can 🙂

The whole “nesting” phase is starting to set in I think. I walked into what will be the nursery the other night and just started crying. No idea why, just tears, slowly streaming down my face. We’ve received a few things from friends already which has been awesome – such as a crib, a swing thing, bumbo, bopie, an adorable 4th of July outfit (thanks mom!) that hopefully she’s here in time to wear! It’s great to have parent friends who are able to share what they really used and didn’t use (and pass along the things they aren’t using anymore 😉 )

Registering for things is hard because you don’t want to have a million registries, but at the same time there’s better deals out there than just on Amazon. If you feel compelled to get us something for new little Baby Burton we are registered on Amazon, but please if you can find what you want to buy cheaper somewhere other than the mighty green giant, please buy somewhere else instead so you don’t waste money.

For some reason this is a hard post to write. I think it’s because we’re usually the ones throwing parties and enjoying giving to others. Isn’t it odd how we get all awkward when friends want to do something for us? Maybe it’s just me. I’m learning to love and accept generosity and kindness as well as exude it everyday!

Anywho – we are getting more excited every day and the anticipation of a new little B is terrifying and thrilling all at the same time. Thank you for being so loving and generous to us in the same way our God is.

*Confession: I was a little worried about daycare costs to be honest, but as soon as I started to worry about it God provided an income increase for us for the EXACT AMOUNT of the daycare cost each month… EXACTLY, after taxes and everything!  It’s as if He was saying – “I can handle this, what other needs to you have?” The raise was so unexpected that the surprise only heightened the awareness that only God could have provided in this way.

I know our needs great and small will be met and we are so thankful you are in our lives so we can share the experience with you and intertwine our lives in deep community – no matter how far away you might be 🙂 We love you!

– Beka
