Cross county road trip – Day 4

We. Drove. Through. The. Night.

Sometimes ideas sound really cool. They will save you time in the long run, you’ll have more time to do what you want, you can listen to that audiobook you’ve been waiting on without distractions, and countless other good idea reasonings. But, at 2:00 am in the pitch black night while hitting the ‘drunk bumps’ every 10 minutes, your past good idea is your current nightmare.

After waking up at 6am, driving to & hanging out in Yosemite, and then deciding to drive through the night, we were tired. Like you’ve just ran a marathon, or in my case a mile, and can’t breathe and need to nap tired. I’m happy to report that I listened to 4 chapters of two different audiobooks, didn’t crash, and ate way too many Twizzlers, sour candies, and BBQ pop chips, and we reached our destination – our good friends house in Phoenix, AZ!!

We spent the day relaxing, catching up with friends, doing laundry, and playing with animals. It doesn’t sound like a crazy fun day, but it was. The best kind of friends are the ones that rejuvenate your soul, and the entire St. John family does exactly that. Whether we haven’t seen each other in 10 years or 2, it’s like a falling into a welcoming hug you didn’t even realize you needed.
